Poster Competition
SCI Yorkshire and Humber will be holding a Poster Competition as part of an event on “Enhancing your Business with Green Chemistry” to be held at Kings Manor, York on December 2nd 2009.
Applications are therefore invited for entries based on the theme of “Commercial Applicability of Green Chemistry Principles”
There will be one prize of £250 and applications are invited from researchers at any University or research establishment within the UK.

Synopsis
Green Chemistry involves products and processes which use sustainable resources so far as possible, with minimum adverse effects on man or the environment. This event will present the work of regional universities, especially York, and will include examples of current work in the field of green chemistry and an overview of recent developments. It will also feature case studies from regional businesses showing how they have benefited from the application of green chemistry principles, and information about training opportunities in the field in the region. The event will include networking opportunities for regional businesses and researchers, and will also incorporate a poster competition to showcase work being done, particularly in regional universities, focusing on the commercial application of green chemistry principles.
Who Should Attend?
The event will be of interest to anyone working in businesses, within the region and beyond, who are involved in production or application of chemical products, and to academics and researchers working in the field of green chemistry and sustainable industrial development.

Applications are invited from Research teams based at any University or Research establishment for posters based on the theme of 'Commercial Application of Green Chemistry Principles'. There will be one prize of £250 for the poster judged to best demonstrate both commercial potential and sustainability.
