Green Chemistry & the Consumer
The Green Chemistry and the Consumer project is an exciting venture from the GCN, aimed at delivering knowledge and understanding of Green Chemistry to consumers and retailers, and covers all chemical-dependent consumer products including clothing, furnishing, electronic goods, personal care products and food. The project also aims to engage representatives from throughout the entire supply chain and to encourage direct involvement of the retail trade in green chemistry research. One of the main outputs from the project is a quarterly newsletter, which describes current greener chemical information in a way that is comprehensible to a widely non-technical audience. Content of the newsletter includes recent advances in chemistry applicable to greener chemical products, implications of relevant legislation explained in a more understandable manner, recent news snippets and other related topics, such as Green Chemistry research opportunities and upcoming events.
Opportunities to get involved in the Green Chemistry and the Consumer project are outlined in the Opportunities Document.
The GCN holds an annual symposium in connection with this theme, which is also targeted at relevant trade associations, academics and industrialists.
